The Lounge - Part 2...
Thought you'd like to see John's entry for the Tate Modern.....
This is actually the brick above the fireplace in the Lounge. What happened was that we decided to remove the layer of brickwork surrounding the chimney breast, as it was too intrusive into the room. We then chose a new fireplace, with a wonderful limestone mantel and surround. Having ordered it, we discovered that it was bigger than the bricks we had left! So John has to hastily erect some plasterboard to make it one brick wider, and one sheet of plasterboard thicker, to allow us the room for the new fireplace! This is called "Dibs and Dabs", by the way! Offers for this work of art in the region of 10 grand will be considered....
Have to say that the wall is looking considerably improved - new fireplace comes this Thursday. I'm off now to complete first coat of gloss on just over 7 metres of new skirten board, amongst a host of other things!
P.S. If You see me sporting a new hair colour, it's actually speckled white paint from doing the ceilings ( twice) with a roller......
