Christmas Lights.....

Not blogged in ages – been exceptionally busy doing artwork for our main notice board in Church in the run-up to Christmas. I painted a copy of a nativity scene we’ve had on our handout leaflets (I took it up to A1 size), and although it took a lot of time (and space, using my son’s architect’s drawing board in his bedroom for 6 weeks – thanks Chris!), the finished result looks pretty good.

Yesterday was spent at the church getting completely stuck in to the great day we run when Father Christmas turns on the lights in Moulsham Street. It struck me yesterday that I’d been involved in this fun day ever since we moved to Chelmsford from our native Wales – and that’s 29 years this year! My back, and especially the soles of my feet, know that I am not 19 any more. But I was doing the notice board and the 3-D “wallboxes” in the foyer for most of the morning, and then was doing face painting in the afternoon when the hoardes came back for tea and cakes (and bouncy castles, and craft, and sports results, and the tradecraft stall – so much going on….!)

Would value your prayers for John. He’s been away on business in Bucharest, Romania, for 17 days. Hopefully he will be back tomorrow, but he’s had “The Romania Factor” to deal with – which is probably best described as “Maniana”, but without the energy!! There is the possibility that he might only be home for a short while before returning, once they have released some vital equipment that is still stuck in customs, for him to install. He also has a number of other site visits (in this country) to squeeze in before Christmas, so we would value your prayers.
