The Lounge - Part 2...

Thought you'd like to see John's entry for the Tate Modern.....

This is actually the brick above the fireplace in the Lounge. What happened was that we decided to remove the layer of brickwork surrounding the chimney breast, as it was too intrusive into the room. We then chose a new fireplace, with a wonderful limestone mantel and surround. Having ordered it, we discovered that it was bigger than the bricks we had left! So John has to hastily erect some plasterboard to make it one brick wider, and one sheet of plasterboard thicker, to allow us the room for the new fireplace! This is called "Dibs and Dabs", by the way! Offers for this work of art in the region of 10 grand will be considered....

Have to say that the wall is looking considerably improved - new fireplace comes this Thursday. I'm off now to complete first coat of gloss on just over 7 metres of new skirten board, amongst a host of other things!

P.S. If You see me sporting a new hair colour, it's actually speckled white paint from doing the ceilings ( twice) with a roller......

The Lounge Part 1

Been harping on about the lounge – it’s only just reached the preparation stage, as it feels like we’ve been at a demolition stage until now! The picture of John's knees was as a result of him kneeling on sections of plasterboard all day - made a lovely imprint of the knee-pads he'd been wearing, and he wants to prove that he is obviously a good christian by spending so much time on his knees!

John is taking the opportunity to re-do and add lots of electrical wiring, plumbing, and, at along last, wiring for a decent sound system! Made me realise, again, that projects like this take both time and planning. Things have to be sequenced carefully for the whole end-result to work.
Pat's Thought for the Day:
And that is how God works in our lives, though I suspect that the mess He often starts with looks a while lot worse than my lounge….

But He patiently puts everything in place, sorting, disposing, cleaning and re-creating to make us into the image of His Son, and that really DOES take time….
